Eric J. Freitag, Psy.D., PSY21325, Executive Director

Dr. Freitag is a licensed clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. His clinical expertise includes assessment and treatment of dementia, traumatic brain injury, and sport concussion. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Mt. Diablo Memory Center in Walnut Creek, CA.  Dr. Freitag is a graduate of the Wright Institute in Berkeley, Ca.. He completed his pre-doctoral training at the Portia Belle Hume Center in Concord, Ca. and served a two year post-doctoral fellowship at the Marin Neuropsychology Center in San Rafael, Ca., working extensively with patients with traumatic brain injury and older adults with memory disorders. He is a member of the American Psychological Association Division of Neuropsychology, National Academy of Neuropsychology and the International Brain Injury Association.

Gina Murrell, Psy.D., PSY22140

Dr. Murrell is a Licensed Psychologist and Clinical Geropsychologist.  She provides Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy and assessment and treatment of memory and dementia disorders at Mt. Diablo Memory Center.  Dr. Murrell's clinical interests include psychotherapy and care for older adults and family members in individual and group settings with a focus on common late life medical conditions and associated psychological aspects.  

Dr. Murrell received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating with honors and her doctoral degree from the Wright Institute in Berkeley.  She completed a pre-doctoral internship in Washington, D.C. at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and post-doctoral training at Napa State Hospital in Napa.  She is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Society of Clinical Geropsychology, Division 12, Section II and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. 

Talyn Kasbarian, MA, Psychological Assistant, PSB35700

 Talyn Kasbarian has been a part of the Mt. Diablo Memory Center since 2009. She provides Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy as well as administeration of neuropsychological evaluations. Talyn received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, where she is also completing her doctoral degree. She is a student member of the American Psychological Association Division of Neuropsychology, National Academy of Neuropsychology and the Northern California Neuropsychology Forum.
